Does this cable carry true stereo sound or only mono?
Stereo. Both the left and right channels pass through: you keep the separation of voices and instruments as the source produces it, and therefore the spatial effect of a film or game when you connect a computer or tablet to speakers.
Does the braided jacket really make a difference to the cable's lifespan?
Yes. The cable has a braided construction that resists everyday wear: repeated coiling, rubbing in a bag, being run over by a chair leg. It nevertheless stays compact and flexible, easy to coil up and take with you.
Is 1.5 metres enough to connect my computer to speakers?
It measures 1.50 m, a length intended for close-range connections: computer, tablet or speaker within reach of each other. Measure the actual route before ordering — desktop unit on the floor, around furniture — and go for a longer model beyond that.
Does it matter which end is plugged in where?
No. Both ends are identical 3.5 mm male jacks: you plug either end into the headphone output of the computer or tablet, and the other into the speaker's AUX input. Nothing to identify, nothing to orient.
My phone has no headphone jack: can I still use it?
This cable ends in a 3.5 mm jack on both sides: it needs a jack socket at each end. On a device without one, you need to add an adapter, to be purchased separately. On a computer, tablet or speaker, it plugs in directly.
