Frequently asked questions about this product

Can memory be added to the LOQ 15ARP10E?
No, 16 GB is the ceiling. The PC has a single 16 GB DDR5-4800 module in one of its two SODIMM slots, which are capable of running in dual-channel mode, but the maximum validated by Lenovo for this machine is 16 GB.
Can a second SSD be added, and what form factor must it be?
Yes: the machine has two M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, only one of which is occupied by the 1 TB NVMe SSD. Mind the required form factor, which is M.2 2242: check it before buying the second drive. Each slot accepts up to 1 TB, for 2 TB in total.
Is the keyboard AZERTY, and is it backlit?
The keyboard is indeed French AZERTY, but it is not backlit: gaming or typing in the dark will require an extra light source. The buttonless Mylar touchpad measures 69 × 104 mm and meets the Precision TouchPad standard.
Is there a fingerprint reader to unlock Windows?
No, there is no fingerprint reader on this model. Unlocking is therefore done with a PIN or a password, with hardware security relying on the TPM 2.0 chip enabled in firmware. The webcam is an HD 720p unit fitted with a physical privacy shutter.
Which power adapter does this gaming laptop use?
A 135 W adapter with a Slim Tip (3-pin) connector, to be carried in the bag with the machine: it uses its own dedicated power connector. The battery is 57.5 Wh, and the USB-C port is a 5 Gbps USB port compatible with Power Delivery 3.0.
Is the display matte, and what is its 144 Hz like in everyday use?
It is anti-glare, and therefore matte: a 15.6-inch Full HD IPS panel at 144 Hz, with 300 nits of brightness, 100% sRGB coverage and FreeSync. This full sRGB coverage also makes it usable for photo editing or video editing, beyond gaming.
Which ports are there for an external monitor, an SD card and a wired network?
One HDMI 2.1 port up to 8K/60 Hz, a 3-in-1 card reader, one 100/1000M RJ-45 Ethernet port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, one 5 Gbps USB-C port and a headphone/microphone combo jack. Wireless is handled by 2x2 Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2; WWAN is not supported, so there is no built-in cellular connection.
How much power is actually allocated to the RTX 3050 in this LOQ?
The dedicated GeForce RTX 3050 has 6 GB of GDDR6, a Boost clock of 990 MHz and a 65 W TGP. It is this power budget, and not just the name of the card, that sets apart two laptops fitted with the same chip. The whole setup is aimed at Full HD gaming, the display's native resolution.
Is the screen a touchscreen, and is a stylus supported?
No on both counts: the display is not a touchscreen and a stylus is not supported. There is no optical drive either — plan on an external USB burner if you still have CDs or DVDs to play. The display does, however, have thin bezels, for an 88% screen-to-body ratio.
Is Windows installed, and is Office included?
Windows 11 Home (Single Language, in French) is preinstalled and ready to use. For office software, only an Office trial version is supplied: a full licence must be purchased if you need it beyond the trial period. No other accessory comes with the machine apart from the power supply.
How long will Lenovo support this model?
End of support for this model number is set for 8 November 2031, for a model announced in October 2025. For security, the TPM 2.0 chip is enabled in firmware. The machine is also ErP Lot 6/26 and RoHS compliant.
Is 1.8 kg for a gaming PC portable enough to carry every day?
Expect 1.8 kg for 359.2 × 236 × 19.9-22.95 mm: it fits easily into a 15-inch bag, plus the 135 W adapter. The chassis is made of PC-ABS on both top and bottom, with an IMR finish applied by roller.
Are the sound and the webcam good enough for video calls?
The PC has two 2 W stereo speakers optimised by Nahimic Audio and two array microphones, enough to hold a meeting without a headset. The webcam, however, is limited to 720p: for a sharp image in regular video calls, an external webcam is still preferable.
Is the PC new, and how long is the warranty?
Yes: the machine is new and sealed in its original packaging, supplied with its invoice, which serves as the warranty document for 2 years. Full configuration details are available in the Lenovo datasheet (PDF).
