1 year manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.
  • If no product is available, a refund is issued as soon as the brand confirms it.

The warranty covers breakdowns occurring under normal use, as defined by the brand's terms. Product breakage (drop, impact, liquid…) is not covered, nor are certain consumable parts.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How many cartridges does the HPE LTO-7 C7977AN pack contain?
Twenty cartridges, each holding 15 TB compressed at a 2.5:1 ratio. This is packaging for an archiving project: at this volume, you build a complete backup rotation rather than replacing cartridges one at a time.
Does an LTO-7 tape really protect against ransomware?
Yes, by design: a cartridge removed from the drive is offline, and therefore out of reach of remote encryption. That is precisely the argument for tape backup against cyberattacks.
Are HPE LTO-7 cartridges encrypted?
Yes, with AES-256 built-in encryption. This is what meets regulatory obligations on personal data: a lost or stolen tape remains unreadable without the key.
Can you rewrite an HPE LTO-7 cartridge?
It comes in a rewritable or write-once (WORM) version. WORM prevents any modification after writing: this is what an archive with evidential value requires, compliant with the standards of law enforcement agencies.
How do you read an HPE LTO-7 cartridge like a disk?
With HPE StoreOpen and the Linear Tape File System: the tape then appears as a conventional storage medium, similar to a USB flash drive, instead of requiring dedicated backup software.
Does an LTO tape archive consume electricity?
It is presented as a sustainable, eco-friendly solution that saves energy and cooling. A cartridge stored on a shelf consumes nothing, unlike a disk that must remain powered to stay accessible.
Is the HPE LTO-7 C7977AN cartridge pack new and under warranty?
New, reference C7977AN, in original HPE packaging, twenty cartridges included. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year. Keep it: it is the document that will be requested in the event of a claim.
