1 year manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Do the cameras need a separate power supply with this recorder?
No: it has 16 built-in PoE ports, compliant with IEEE 802.3af and at. Each camera receives power and data over a single network cable, for a plug-and-play installation.
What total PoE power can this recorder supply?
142 W maximum, shared across the 16 ports. This is the budget not to exceed: sixteen cameras at 10 W each fit, sixteen power-hungry motorised cameras do not.
How many hard drives does this recorder accept?
Two SATA bays, accepting disks of 4, 6 or 8 TB per slot. The disks are not listed in the box contents: plan to buy them.
How many 4K cameras can this recorder display live?
Local decoding depends on the resolution: 2 channels at 8 MP at 30 fps, 4 channels at 4 MP, or 8 channels at 2 MP. Recording all 16 streams remains possible in every case.
Can several cameras be played back at the same time?
Yes: 16 channels in simultaneous playback, with fast forward from 2× to 16× and slow motion from 1/16× to 1/2×. You can search by time, by recording type or by artificial intelligence event.
Does this recorder recognise faces?
Yes: it has built-in facial recognition, motion detection and perimeter analysis. Recordings can then be found by event.
What resolution does this recorder output to a display?
Up to 4K, 3840 × 2160, over HDMI; the VGA output goes up to 1920 × 1080. The display is split into 1 to 16 windows depending on the chosen mode.
Does this recorder accept cameras from other brands?
It supports access via the Holowits SDK and ONVIF. ONVIF is the interoperability standard for video surveillance: a compliant camera can therefore be added to it.
Which video formats does this recorder handle?
H.264 and H.265, with an incoming bitrate of 168 Mbps across 16 channels. H.265 cuts the bitrate compared with H.264 at comparable quality — and so doubles the recording time kept on the same disk.
Is this Holowits HWT-NVR800-A02-16P recorder new and under warranty?
Yes, it is a new Holowits recorder, with an embedded Linux system, 8 GB of DDR4 memory, one Gigabit port and three USB ports. The invoice serves as the warranty document, for a period of 1 year.
