Superlux CFI3PP · ECO Cable series

Three shielded metres
between instrument and amp.

The CFI3PP connects a guitar, bass or keyboard to the amp, effects pedal or mixing desk through two straight 6.35 mm mono jack plugs.

A shield against interference

Under the 6 mm black PVC jacket, a conductor of ten 0.12 mm bare copper strands, or 0.13 mm², is wrapped in a spiral-wound aluminium foil that protects it from outside interference. Between this conductor and the shield, the capacitance stays at 80 pF per metre: the lower it is, the less a cable softens the treble of a passive guitar pickup.

Mono plugs: this cable carries a single channel. A headphone output or a stereo link needs stereo jack plugs, recognisable by their second insulating ring.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Is the Superlux CFI3PP suitable for a guitar or bass?
Yes. It is an instrument cable with two straight 6.35 mm mono jack plugs, 3 metres long: it connects a guitar, bass, keyboard or effects pedal to an amp, mixing desk or audio interface. Its straight plugs fit a recessed jack output as well as an amp input.
Is the CFI3PP cable shielded?
Yes: its single conductor is wrapped in a spiral-wound aluminium foil that protects the signal from outside interference. The whole is sheathed in 6 mm black PVC, for 45 g per metre of cable.
What does the CFI3PP's 80 pF/m capacitance mean?
It is the capacitance measured between the conductor and the shield, per metre of cable: 80 pF/m, or 240 pF for the 3 m of the CFI3PP. The lower this value, the less the cable softens the treble of a passive guitar pickup; it grows with the cable length.
Is the Superlux CFI3PP a stereo cable?
No: its two 6.35 mm jack plugs are mono (TS) and the cable has only one conductor under its shield, for an unbalanced single-channel link. A headphone output or a stereo link needs a cable with stereo (TRS) jack plugs.
Can an XLR microphone be connected with the CFI3PP?
No: the CFI3PP only has 6.35 mm mono jack plugs on both ends. A microphone with an XLR output needs a female XLR to male XLR microphone cable, balanced, with two conductors under a shield, which handles long runs on stage better.
