Frequently asked questions about this product
What is the real-world speed of the Epson WF-M5190DW?
34 pages/min at peak, but 20 pages/min under the ISO/IEC standard. The standardised figure measures a complete job and is the only one comparable from one machine to another: it is the one to go by.
Does the Epson WF-M5190DW print in colour?
No, in black and white only, with a high-capacity black cartridge. It is an alternative to laser for high-volume documents: a controlled cost per page, and no fuser to warm up every time it wakes.
Does the Epson WF-M5190DW print double-sided automatically?
Yes. On a machine whose recommended volume exceeds 2,000 pages per month, automatic duplexing is the most direct saving: half the paper, and no handling between the two passes.
How do you connect the Epson WF-M5190DW to the office network?
Via Wi-Fi or built-in Ethernet, with a USB 2.0 port as well. Ethernet is the connection to favour on a shared workstation: a stable address and consistent throughput, unaffected by wireless congestion.
What paper capacity does the Epson WF-M5190DW have?
330 sheets. It measures 461 x 422 x 284 mm and weighs 11.2 kg, with a 5.6 cm monochrome LCD screen, not touch-sensitive — a status display, not a control console.
Which cartridges does the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-M5190DW use?
Part numbers T8651 and T8661. Two capacities for the same machine: the cost per page falls as the capacity rises, which is worth calculating from the first consumables order.
How good is the printhead of the Epson WF-M5190DW?
It is a fixed PrecisionCore printhead, described as durable: it is not replaced with every cartridge, unlike consumer inkjets. Resolution reaches 1,200 x 2,400 dpi.
Is the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-M5190DW new and covered by a warranty?
New, in original Epson packaging. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year. Keep it: it is the document you will be asked for if you make a claim.
