Is the DJI OM Multifunctional Module included with the Osmo Mobile 7?
No. The Osmo Mobile 7 does not include the DJI OM Multifunctional Module: you need the tracking kit for the DJI OM 7 series, sold separately. It is this module that provides app-free tracking, the fill light, reception for DJI Mic 2 / Mic Mini microphones and gesture control.
How does subject tracking work without this module?
Through the DJI Mimo app: the screen automatically frames detected subjects, one tap on a frame locks tracking, another switches to a different subject. ActiveTrack keeps hold of the main subject even if it is briefly hidden or moving fast.
What phone weight can the gimbal carry?
Up to 300 g. The magnetic mounts have been redesigned to accept both Android smartphones with large camera bumps and entry-level models; for iPhone, the DJI OM quick-release magnetic mount is sold separately.
Under what conditions is the 10-hour battery life measured?
Gimbal balanced horizontally, stationary and with no accessory: the figure is taken in a controlled environment and real-world use varies. On the plus side, the USB-C port lets you charge your phone from the gimbal during an outdoor shoot.
Do you need to buy a tripod and a selfie stick as well?
No, both are built in: the extension rod extends to widen the frame or to shoot high-angle and low-angle, and the tripod unfolds under the handle. The tripod is intended for stable, flat surfaces in a wind-free environment.
How long does it take to be ready to film?
A few seconds: the gimbal switches on as soon as you unfold it and the phone mount is magnetic. Automatic launch of DJI Mimo on connection is supported on iPhone, after an initial pairing and once quick launch is enabled.
Does Dual Lens Boost work on all phones?
It is limited to the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max and later Pro / Pro Max models, running iOS 16 or later, within a zoom range of 1x to 8x. It makes both lenses work together for steadier tracking and automatic reframing if the subject leaves the frame.
Can you switch to the rear camera without letting go of the gimbal?
Yes: a triple press on the trigger instantly switches to the phone's rear camera, the one with the higher resolution. Handy when vlogging to alternate between your face and the scenery without picking up the phone.
What camera movements does the gimbal offer?
Four modes: PT (pan and tilt follow, image stable in roll), FPV (the camera follows every movement), PF (only pan follows, ideal for circling around a subject) and SpinShot, where the joystick controls the rotation of the image.
Can you shoot panoramas or timelapses with the Osmo Mobile 7?
Yes, once connected to DJI Mimo: Timelapse, Motionlapse and Hyperlapse to compress time, three panorama modes (3×3, 240° and CloneMe), and DynamicZoom forwards or backwards for the background-stretching effect.
Can someone who has never filmed before use it?
Yes. ShotGuides analyses the scene and suggests a sequence of shots with its tutorial, DJI Mimo's AI-assisted editing assembles the result in one tap from video templates, and Parent-Child mode handles the camera movements on its own.
Is the gimbal new and under warranty?
Yes: a new, sealed product, reference CP.OS.00000406.01, supplied with its invoice, which serves as a 1-year warranty. This is indeed the Osmo Mobile 7, not the 7P: the multifunctional module and the side wheel belong to the other model in the range.
