Does this printer work over Wi-Fi?
Yes. It has a built-in dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi card, able to connect on either the 2.4 GHz band or the less congested 5 GHz band. A Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port also allows a direct connection to a computer. The USB cable is not supplied with the device.
What is the real print speed?
Up to 7.5 pages per minute in black and 5.5 pages per minute in colour, measured to the ISO standard, which reflects everyday use. In draft mode, which uses less ink, the device reaches 20 pages per minute in black and 16 in colour. The first black page comes out in about 16 seconds.
Can this printer scan documents?
Yes. The scanner is a flatbed with a CIS sensor, an optical resolution of up to 1,200 dpi and a maximum scan area of 216 x 297 millimetres, i.e. A4 size. There is no automatic document feeder: pages are placed on the glass one at a time.
What print volume can this printer handle?
HP recommends a monthly volume of 50 to 100 pages to maintain the device's performance. The maximum duty cycle is 1,000 A4 pages per month, but this pace is not advised on an ongoing basis. It is a machine intended for a household or a very small office, not for an entire department.
Does this printer do automatic duplex printing?
No. Duplex printing is manual: the driver manages the sequence and asks you to turn the stack of paper over halfway through. Paper is fed from a 60-sheet tray and delivered to a 25-sheet output tray, with support for plain, photo and brochure paper and envelopes.
