The AR8c fits on a corner of the desk: 280 mm wide and 3.2 kg for eight channels, four XMAX mic preamps, a USB-C audio interface and an SD card recorder. The small mixer for podcasts, live streams and rehearsals, controlled entirely with knobs.

Four voices around a single mixer
The four XLR inputs are spread over mono channels 1 and 2 and over stereo channels 3/4 and 5/6. Channels 1 and 2 also accept a guitar or a bass in Hi-Z, the stereo channels a keyboard or a synthesizer at line level. Each channel has its three-band equalizer, its effects send and its Aux send, and the mono channels a low cut at 100 Hz.
The phone, the SD card and the effects in one place
The 7/8 Super Channel takes the RCA input, the 3.5 mm mini-jack, Bluetooth 5.0 and playback from the SD card or USB together: a jingle, hold music, a guest playing an excerpt. The stereo recorder captures the main mix as 24-bit WAV on SD or SDHC up to 32 GB, and the processor offers sixteen reverb, delay and chorus presets.
Every channel on the computer
Over USB-C, the AR8c sends eight channels to the computer, every channel and the main mix, in 24-bit up to 96 kHz. Capture starts multitrack recording in one click, and its sessions open in Fender Studio Pro, supplied with product registration. For a podcast that needs little editing, the USB 1/2 Send button puts the main mix straight on the first two tracks.

Bluetooth is for playback: the phone plays on the Super Channel. To pair it, hold the Pair button for three seconds until it flashes, then choose the mixer in the phone's list.

Can every channel be recorded separately on a computer?
Yes: the USB interface sends 8 channels to the computer, every channel and the main mix, in 24-bit up to 96 kHz. The Capture software sets up multitrack recording in one click, and its sessions open in Fender Studio Pro, supplied with product registration.
How many mics can be connected to the AR8c?
Four, on four XLR inputs with XMAX preamps: two on mono channels 1 and 2, one on each of stereo channels 3/4 and 5/6. Channels 1 and 2 also accept a guitar or a bass in Hi-Z, and the stereo channels a keyboard or a synthesizer at line level.
How are the levels set on the AR8c?
With rotary knobs, on each channel as on the sends and the master, which keeps the mixer compact: 280 mm wide for 3.2 kg. The signal LEDs of each channel and the main bus meters help set the gain before raising the level.
Does the SD recorder record all the tracks?
No, it records the main mix in stereo, as 24-bit WAV at 44.1 kHz, on an SD or SDHC card up to 32 GB, not included. It is the tool for keeping a record of a rehearsal or a live session without a computer; for multitrack, you go through USB.
Is the AR8c suitable for a podcast with several voices?
Yes: four mics on the XMAX preamps, music or a jingle played from a phone over Bluetooth on the Super Channel, and the mix recorded over USB or on an SD card. The USB 1-2 Send button places the main mix straight on the first two USB tracks.
How many monitor mixes can be created?
One, on the auxiliary send and its jack output. The FX output can serve as a second monitor mix when you do without the internal effects, since using it bypasses the effects processor with 16 presets.
Can the AR8c be rack-mounted?
Yes, with the rack ear kit specific to the AR8c, sold separately. On a table, it measures 280 mm wide, 313 mm deep and 90 mm high, for 3.2 kg, and connects to the mains with an IEC cord supplied.
