The faster of the two LBP240 II models prints 40 A4 pages per minute, keeps 33.6 ipm in automatic duplex and adds PostScript 3 and encrypted secure printing. A laser printer designed to be shared by an entire office, over a wired network or Wi-Fi.

It speaks your software's language
The LBP246dw II understands three print languages: UFR II, used by Canon drivers, PCL 6 and Adobe PostScript 3, with 45 PCL fonts and 136 PostScript fonts in memory. A Mac, a Windows print server or business software that outputs PCL or PostScript all find their language on the same machine. PCL 5e commands are recognised, but Canon does not supply a PCL 5e driver.
The document waits for your code
With secure printing, a contract or a payslip only comes out once the code has been typed on the printer's ten-key numeric keypad; the encrypted version also protects the file on its way across the network. The five-line LCD screen guides the entry.
On the network side, TLS 1.3, IPSec, IEEE 802.1X and WPA3 over Wi-Fi are supported, and the Security Settings Navigator assistant recommends security settings suited to the installation.
Envelopes and heavy paper from the front
The 250-sheet cassette takes everyday paper from 60 to 120 g/m². For everything else, the 100-sheet multi-purpose tray opens at the front and accepts up to 199 g/m², labels, postcards and COM10, Monarch, C5 and DL envelopes. A 550-sheet cassette, the Cassette Feeding Module-AH1, raises input to 900 sheets so refills are less frequent.

Gigabit Ethernet for the wired network, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi for cable-free desks and a direct wireless connection for a visitor's phone: everyone reaches it their own way, with AirPrint, Mopria, the Canon PRINT app or Microsoft Universal Print. For the IT team, the Remote User Interface, department ID management and iW Enterprise Management Console follow the printer without leaving the desk.

What is the difference between the LBP246dw II and the LBP243dw II?
Same chassis and same cartridge, but the LBP246dw II prints at 40 ppm versus 36 ppm, adds the PostScript 3 language and encrypted secure printing. For a fleet printing from software that requires PostScript, it is the right version.
Which cartridge does the LBP246dw II use?
It uses Cartridge 070 (3,000 pages) or the high-capacity 070H (10,200 pages), yields measured according to ISO/IEC 19752. The machine ships with a 1,500-page starter cartridge.
Can it be used over Wi-Fi without a router?
Yes: in addition to 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet, it offers a wireless direct connection where the phone connects to the printer itself. AirPrint, Mopria and the Canon PRINT app are supported.
How many pages per month can it print?
Canon recommends 750 to 4,000 pages per month for lasting use, with a maximum duty cycle of 80,000 pages in a peak month. It is a printer for a team or a busy small office, not an occasional backup.
Can more paper be added?
