Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the HP LaserJet M111w printer offer automatic duplex printing?
No: duplex printing is manual. You have to turn the stack of sheets over yourself to print on both sides. It is a compact entry-level printer, designed primarily for home use.
Is a USB cable supplied with the HP LaserJet M111w?
No, the USB cable is not included in the box and must be purchased separately. The box contains the printer, the power cord, a starter toner and the documentation.
Does the HP LaserJet M111w have an Ethernet port?
No: it has no wired network port. It connects via Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz), Bluetooth Low Energy and USB 2.0. It also supports Wi-Fi Direct, Apple AirPrint and Mopria for mobile printing.
Can you scan or copy with the HP LaserJet M111w?
No, it is a single-function printer (print only), with no built-in scanner or copier. It prints in black and white only. The HP Smart app does, however, let you capture a document with your phone's camera.
Can I use non-HP toners with the M111w?
No: this printer has a dynamic security feature designed to work only with cartridges fitted with a new or reused HP chip, and to block non-HP chips. Firmware updates maintain this protection.
Which toner does the HP LaserJet M111w use, and what is its yield?
It uses the HP 150A toner (W1500A), with a yield of approximately 975 pages. The printer is supplied with a starter toner of approximately 500 pages.
What is the print speed of the M111w?
Up to 20 pages per minute in A4, at a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi (HP FastRes 600 technology). The first page comes out in about 8.5 seconds, which is comfortable for a printer in its class.
What paper sizes and weights does the HP M111w accept?
It supports A4, A5, A6, envelopes (C5, DL) and custom sizes, on plain paper, postcards and labels. The recommended paper weight ranges from 65 to 120 g/m². The tray holds up to 150 sheets (or 10 envelopes).
Does the HP LaserJet M111w use a lot of electricity?
It draws about 361 W when actively printing, but only 2.3 W in sleep mode and 1 W in deep sleep mode, i.e. about 0.239 kWh per week. HP Auto-On/Auto-Off technology only switches it on when it is in use.
Is the M111w compatible with Mac, Linux and mobile devices?
Yes: it works with Windows 11/10/7, macOS and Linux. Mobile printing is handled through the HP Smart app, Apple AirPrint, Mopria and Wi-Fi Direct. The driver can be downloaded from hp.com or 123.hp.com (no CD supplied).
Is the HP LaserJet M111w printer noisy?
No, it stays quiet for a laser printer: its emitted sound pressure is around 48 dB(A) during operation, which suits an office or a home.
