The EcoTank L4260 is refilled with Epson 101 bottles: a 127 ml black and three 70 ml colours — cyan, magenta, yellow. The same series covers the L4150, L4160, L6160, L6170, L6190, L6270 and L6290. The machine ships with enough to print about 14,000 pages in black and 5,200 in colour.

It is the most common ordering mistake on EcoTank machines, and it is easy to understand: the numbers follow one another, the bottles look alike, and the machine's name gives no clue. Yet these series are not interchangeable — they differ in ink formulation and in bottle format.
The rule is simple: the printer model decides, never how alike the boxes look. For the L4260, the only answer is 101. Before confirming, check that the model appears in the bottle's compatibility list, and not merely the word "EcoTank": that word covers dozens of machines which do not take the same ink.
A bottle from another series poured into the tank cannot be taken out again. There is no way to drain an EcoTank, and that is what makes this check more important here than on a cartridge printer, where the wrong part can always be pulled back out.
The black bottle holds 127 ml, the colours 70 ml. The gap is not arbitrary: it follows the real use of an office machine, where black works alone on ordinary documents while the three colours are used only together. The starting supply confirms it — 14,000 pages in black against 5,200 in colour.
In practice, your first refill will nearly always be a black on its own. There is no need to order a full set.
It prints, copies and scans, with automatic duplex — rare on an EcoTank of this size — a 100-sheet tray, a 3.7 cm colour screen and Wi-Fi. It turns out 33 pages per minute in draft mode, 10.5 to the ISO standard. Scanning uses nothing; copying uses as much as printing.
