Frequently asked questions about this product

What can the HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 4276 multifunction printer do?
It is a 3-in-1 inkjet: printing, copying and scanning, with an automatic document feeder, Wi-Fi and mobile fax sending via the HP app.
Is the printhead of the HP DeskJet 4276 permanent or built into the cartridges?
The printhead is built into the cartridge (thermal inkjet). It is therefore renewed every time you change a cartridge, which keeps maintenance to a minimum.
Does the HP DeskJet 4276 do automatic duplex printing?
No, duplex printing is manual (with driver support): you turn the stack of sheets over to print the reverse side.
Is a USB cable supplied with the HP DeskJet 4276?
No, the USB cable is not included and has to be bought separately. The printer also connects over Wi-Fi, with no cable.
Does the HP 4276 printer have an Ethernet port, or only Wi-Fi?
It has Wi-Fi only (802.11 b/g/n, 2.4 GHz band), plus a USB port. There is no Ethernet port.
Can you use non-HP cartridges in the DeskJet 4276?
No: the printer has a dynamic security feature that only accepts cartridges fitted with HP electronic circuitry (new or reused). Cartridges with non-HP chips are blocked.
How many pages do the HP 653 cartridges of the DeskJet 4276 print?
The HP 653 black cartridge prints ~360 pages and the tri-colour ~200 pages. High-capacity cartridges are available as an option for a lower cost per page.
What paper sizes and weights does the HP DeskJet 4276 accept?
It supports A4, B5, A6 and DL envelope sizes. Paper weights: A4 paper 60 to 90 g/m², cards up to 200 g/m², 10 × 15 photo paper up to 300 g/m².
How many pages can the automatic document feeder of the HP 4276 handle?
The automatic document feeder (ADF) takes 35 pages, which is rare at this level, so you can copy or scan several pages without stepping in.
Can you scan to PDF and from a smartphone with the DeskJet 4276?
Yes: it scans to PDF, JPEG, TIFF, BMP and PNG formats, via the HP Smart app or Webscan, including from a smartphone.
Is the HP DeskJet 4276 compatible with Chromebook and Mac?
Yes: it is compatible with Windows 11/10, macOS (up to Sonoma) and Chrome OS.
Does the HP 4276 printer use a lot of power, and is it noisy?
Its power consumption is moderate: 2.8 W in active standby and 1.53 W in sleep mode. The noise level is about 55 dB(A) when printing.
Is the HP DeskJet 4276 printer new and under warranty?
Yes, a new product supplied with its HP 653 starter cartridges. Invoice = 1-year warranty. All the details are in the datasheet (PDF).
