What does the 25× optical zoom of this Holowits PTZ camera allow?
It takes the focal length from 4.8 to 120 mm: the horizontal field narrows from 55° to 2.4°. You can monitor an entire square, then read a detail at the far end without losing definition, unlike with a digital zoom.
How far does this PTZ camera's night vision reach?
150 metres in Smart IR infrared. In colour, it goes down to 0.01 lux, in black and white to 0.002 lux, and remains usable at 0 lux with the infrared switched on.
How far can this motorised camera rotate?
360° pan and -5 to 90° tilt, at an adjustable speed of 0.1 to 200°/s — and 240°/s to reach a preset position. It stores 360 presets and can run patrols.
Is an ordinary PoE injector enough to power this camera?
No: it requires PoE+ to the IEEE 802.3at standard, or a 12 V DC power supply. A basic PoE injector, to the 802.3af standard, does not deliver enough power for a motorised camera.
Can this camera withstand cold and heat?
It is rated for -40 °C to 60 °C, with an IP66 rating. A range that comfortably covers outdoor conditions in Morocco, from severe mountain cold to summer heat.
What is the resolution of this Holowits PTZ camera?
4 MP, i.e. 2560 × 1440, at 25 or 30 frames per second depending on the mains frequency, on a progressive-scan 1/2.7-inch CMOS sensor. It delivers three simultaneous streams.
Does this camera adjust its aperture by itself?
Yes: it is fitted with an automatic iris (Auto DC-IRIS), whose aperture ranges from F1.65 at wide angle to F3.8 at telephoto. Exposure therefore follows the light without any intervention.
Can this camera be integrated with a recorder from another brand?
It is ONVIF compliant, ONVIF being the interoperability standard for video surveillance, and encodes in H.265, H.264+, H.264 and MJPEG. Check the ONVIF profile supported by your recorder.
What difference does the 120 dB WDR dynamic range make on this camera?
It preserves detail in a high-contrast scene — a site entrance facing the sun, a car park half in shade and half in light. 3D DNR noise reduction also cleans up the image in low light.
