How far away can this PTZ camera identify a person?
The DORI table gives, at the wide end, detection at 106 m and identification at 10.6 m; at the telephoto end, detection rises to 3,500 m and identification to 350 m. The zoom makes all the difference.
What zoom does this Holowits PTZ camera offer?
A 33x optical zoom, backed by a 16x digital zoom. The focal length ranges from 5.3 to 175 mm, giving a viewing angle from 54° at its widest to 2.4° at its narrowest. Only the optical zoom preserves resolution.
What does this PTZ camera see at night?
Two types of illumination work side by side: the infrared reaches 150 metres and the white light 30 metres. Its sensitivity goes down to 0.005 lux in colour, and to 0 lux with the infrared switched on.
Can you talk through this camera?
Yes: it has a built-in intercom with two microphones and one speaker, for two-way audio — to call out to a visitor or deter an intrusion without having to go there.
Does this camera automatically follow a person who is moving?
Yes: smart tracking is supported. Its 1 TOPS of computing power also enables behaviour analysis — fast movement, line crossing, intrusion, loitering — and people counting.

Through 360° of horizontal rotation and -15° to +90° of tilt, at a speed ranging from 0.1°/s to 100°/s. It stores 512 preset positions.
How is this Holowits PTZ camera powered?
With 24 V AC or over the network cable via PoE 802.3at. Its consumption reaches 22.3 W at most, against 8.9 W in normal use: a PoE af injector or switch will not be enough.
Can this camera record without a recorder?
It has a microSD slot accepting up to 256 GB, which allows on-board recording in addition to a network recorder. The memory card is not included.
Can this camera stay outdoors all year round?
Yes: it is IP66 certified, has class C corrosion resistance, and is rated from -30 °C to +60 °C. It suits industrial sites as well as exposed areas.
What video formats does this camera produce?
H.265, H.264 and MJPEG, in triple stream, up to 2880 × 1620 pixels at 25 or 30 frames per second. H.265 cuts the bitrate compared with H.264 at comparable quality.
Is this PTZ camera heavy to mount?
2.6 kg net for 260 × 202.6 × 202.6 mm. This is not a lightweight dome: plan for a bracket and fixings sized accordingly, especially on a façade.
