Non-contractual photos

The visuals on this page are supplied by the manufacturer. They are frequently produced for a whole range — not for the exact model you are viewing: what you see in the photo is never a promise of what is included.

No exchange, return or cancellation will be accepted on the grounds that something seen in a photo (accessory, port, colour, keyboard layout, packaging…) is not found on the delivered product. Only the specifications written on the page are binding for the order.

What the image does not guarantee:

  • Lens : a body photographed with a lens is very often sold body only: only the title (“body only”, “18-55 kit”…) states what is delivered.
  • Accessories : memory card, spare battery, charger, bag, tripod, lens hood and caps are not included unless stated.
  • Sample images : the sample photographs shown say nothing about the results you will get.
  • Screen and viewfinder : an articulating screen, electronic viewfinder and connectors depend on the reference.
  • Colour : one image often serves several colours, and the shade you see depends on studio lighting as much as on your screen settings; the colour sold is the one in the title and the specifications.
  • Props and accessories : the items shown around the product (cables, stands, decorative objects, content displayed on screen) are not included unless explicitly stated.
  • Packaging : boxes, labels and bundles change with the manufacturer's revisions: the packaging delivered may differ from the one in the photo.

What is binding: the product title, this page's technical specifications, the description and, when provided, the manufacturer's PDF datasheet available in the downloads.

Product overview

The Vanguard ALTA PRO 263AB G2 tripod is the benchmark for macro and still-life photographers. Its multi-angle centre column swings from vertical to horizontal and rotates 360°, placing the camera above the subject for viewpoints that would otherwise be out of reach. Built from aluminium with three sections and flip locks, it supports up to 7 kg and rises to 173 cm. Its feet, with rubber tips and retractable metal spikes, grip on any terrain, and its ball head with an Arca-compatible plate delivers smooth, precise framing.

Frequently asked questions about this product

What does the multi-angle column of this Vanguard tripod offer?
It tilts from vertical to horizontal and rotates through 360°: the camera can be positioned above a subject lying flat — reproduction, macro, still life — without a leg in the frame.
What load does this ALTA PRO 263AB G2 tripod support?
Up to 7 kg. That is more than double a travel tripod: enough to carry a full-frame body with a fast telephoto lens.
What height does this Vanguard tripod reach?
173 cm at most. That is eye level for most users: you frame standing up, without bending down.
Does the head on this tripod accept an Arca plate?
Yes: it is Arca-compatible, the most widespread plate standard. The Arca plates and rails you already own fit on it directly.
Is this Vanguard ALTA PRO 263AB G2 tripod new and under warranty?
Yes, it is a new Vanguard product, barcode 4719856255323, in aluminium. The invoice serves as the warranty document, for 1 year. Keep it in case a defect is found.
