What does this UNV camera see in very low light?
It goes down to 0.0005 lux in colour (at F1.0, with auto gain enabled) — a sensitivity it owes to its large 1/1.8-inch sensor. The scene remains legible where an ordinary camera only produces a grey image.
Why does the 1/1.8-inch sensor make the difference?
Because a larger sensor receives more light at the same resolution. That is what explains this model's sensitivity of 0.0005 lux, well ahead of the 1/2.9-inch sensors of entry-level cameras.
Can this IPC2314LE-ADF28KM-WP camera stay outdoors?
