What battery life is quoted for the iPad (A16) 512 GB?
Up to 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi on a single charge. The test is carried out with the battery fully discharged, brightness set to 50% and auto-brightness turned off. Your actual battery life will depend on screen brightness, the network and the apps you have open.
Which charger do you need to charge this iPad?
A 20 W USB-C power adapter and a USB-C cable are all you need. The same adapter can charge an iPhone or earbuds, so you do not have to carry two chargers when travelling. The USB-C port also serves as the connection for a drive, a dock or an external display.
What does 512 GB actually mean on an iPad?
It is the largest capacity offered on this model: enough to keep an entire photo library, several seasons of series and 4K video projects available offline without clearing space for every edit. The 128 and 256 GB versions cover lighter use.
Is the USB-C port on the iPad (A16) 512 GB USB 3?
No, it is USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps. It powers and connects a drive, a dock or a display, but the transfer rate is capped: exporting a large video project to an external drive takes time. With 512 GB of internal storage, however, you will rarely need to move your files off the tablet.
Can the iPad (A16) Blue handle 4K video editing?
Yes. The 12 MP rear camera records in 4K and the A16 chip — 5-core CPU, 4-core GPU — handles the editing on screen, with 6 GB of RAM to keep apps open side by side. It is all done on the tablet, without going through a computer.
Can you connect an external display to this iPad?
Yes, through the USB-C port, which accepts a display just as well as a dock or a hard drive. It is the simplest way to show a presentation on a big screen in a meeting, with no proprietary adapter or dedicated docking station.
Does the iPad (A16) 512 GB support Apple Intelligence?
No: these features are offered on iPad Pro, iPad Air and iPad mini. This iPad relies on the A16 chip and its 16-core Neural Engine, which run Live Text, Visual Look Up in photos and 4K editing without depending on the network.
Do you need an adapter for the Apple Pencil on the iPad (A16)?
It depends on the model: the Apple Pencil (USB-C) connects directly, whereas the Apple Pencil (1st generation) requires the USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter. Both pencils, like the adapter, are sold separately.
How good is the screen on the iPad (A16) Blue?
A 2360 × 1640-pixel Liquid Retina panel at 500 nits, with True Tone adapting the colours to the ambient light. Colours are calibrated to sRGB, the colour space of the web and office work — P3 remains the preserve of the iPad Air and Pro.
Does the iPad (A16) have stereo sound for watching a film?
Yes, in landscape mode. The two speakers then sit on either side of the screen and deliver convincing left-right separation for a series or a video call. With the tablet held upright, the sound is concentrated on one side.
