No fan, so no whir
The M2 chip is built on second-generation 5 nm technology and is cooled with no moving parts. Video meeting, spreadsheet, a dozen open tabs or a photo export: the MacBook Air stays silent, which matters in a library, an open-plan office or in the evening next to someone asleep. Its 8 GB of memory is shared by the processor and the graphics, which draw from the same pool with 100 GB/s of bandwidth.
Two USB-C ports that stay free
Charging goes through the MagSafe 3 connector, which comes off at once if someone trips on the cable. The two Thunderbolt / USB 4 ports on the left reach 40 Gbit/s and keep their role while the battery fills up: a fast drive and an external display up to 6K at the same time, for example. On the right, the headphone jack accepts high-impedance models.

The 13.6-inch panel shows 2560 × 1664 pixels, or 224 per inch, with 500 nits of brightness and the P3 colour gamut. The notch at the top houses a 1080p FaceTime camera, backed by three microphones and four speakers with Dolby Atmos support: enough to hold a meeting without a headset.
The enclosure is made of 100 % recycled aluminium. Closed, it measures 30.41 × 21.5 cm, barely more than an A4 sheet.

For large multi-track video projects, a configuration with more memory is more comfortable.
