The EY-MSL1818 is mounted on the wall of the room and stays there: you pull the 180 × 180 cm surface down to project, and it rolls back into its case after the session. No motor, no remote, no socket to plan for.

The right screen for a permanently equipped room
Meeting room, classroom: the screen stays in place, ready to use. Its square surface takes, across its whole width, the 16:9 image of a recent projector as well as the 4:3 image of an older model, with no need to change screens when the projector changes.
Projector distance: multiply its throw ratio by 180 cm. At a ratio of 1.5, it goes 2.70 m from the screen.

Does the EY-MSL1818 screen need a power socket?
No. The screen is pulled down by hand: you draw the surface down to project, then it rolls back into its case after the session. It has neither motor nor remote control, so there is nothing to plug in; all it needs is a free wall above the projection area and enough ceiling height for the 180 cm of surface.
What is the difference with the eyeplay tripod screen of the same size?
The EY-MSL1818 is mounted on the wall and stays in place, ready to be pulled down. The EY-TR1818, also 180 × 180 cm, stands on a tripod and moves from one room to another, with no fixing. The wall screen suits a meeting room or classroom equipped once and for all, the tripod a room whose use changes.
What image size can be projected on the EY-MSL1818?
Up to 180 × 180 cm. The surface is square (1:1 format): a 16:9 image fills the whole width, at 180 × 101 cm, and a 4:3 image measures 180 × 135 cm. The square format thus accepts any projector, old or recent; it also allows a square or vertical image over the full height of the surface.
How far away should the projector be placed?
It depends on your projector's throw ratio, given in its specifications: the distance equals this ratio multiplied by the image width. To fill the 180 cm width of the EY-MSL1818, a projector with a ratio of 1.5 is placed 2.70 m from the screen, and a short-throw model with a ratio of 0.5 only 90 cm away.
Manual or motorised: which one to choose?
A manual screen is enough when it is within reach and used a few times a day: no socket and no motor to plan for. A motorised screen is justified for a surface mounted high or used constantly. In the same brand, the EY-EL2020 is motorised and larger, at 200 × 200 cm, for a bigger room equipped permanently.
