How much wall width do you really need for this 180 cm screen?
193.5 cm: that is the length of the housing, greater than the 180 cm image width. Also allow clearance for the weight bar, which is 184.5 cm long, and a fixing able to hold 7.8 kg.
Is this ORAY 2000 PRO screen motorised, or do you pull it down by hand?
It is manual: the fabric rolls up on a silent spring, with no motor and no power supply. No socket to bring near the ceiling, no cable to run.
Can the fabric be stopped at any height, or only fully extended?
It has an any-height stop mechanism, with notches roughly every 10 cm. You only pull down the area you need, for example to set the bottom of the image above a piece of furniture or a stage.
What happens if you pull the fabric down too far?
The anti-jam roll-up mechanism is designed for exactly this: it stops the screen from locking in the lowered position when it is pulled down too far. The bottom bar, for its part, keeps the fabric taut at every stop height.
Do you need to buy an extra mounting kit to install it?
No. Combined wall or ceiling mounts are built into the ends of the screen: you choose how to install it without any bracket or extra accessory.
What image diagonal does a 180 x 180 cm fabric give?
Fully extended, the square fabric gives a diagonal of about 254 cm, or nearly 100 inches. The any-height stop mechanism lets you pull down only part of it, in steps of roughly 10 cm.
Does the fabric eventually crease?
Its bottom bar incorporates the fabric tensioning system: it keeps the fabric flat and prevents creases as well as image distortion, whatever the extended height. When not in use, the fabric retracts into a white lacquered sheet-steel housing.
Is the fabric fire-rated for a meeting room or a classroom?
The projection surface is a fire-retardant matte white, rated M1 for reaction to fire. The housing that protects it is made of white lacquered sheet steel, not plastic.
Is the screen new and under warranty?
Yes: ORAY 2000 PRO 180 × 180 cm (MPP03B1180180), new, with a 1-year warranty, with its wall and ceiling mounts built into the ends of the housing. The dimensions of the other sizes in the range are given in the Oray datasheet (PDF).
