1 year manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.
  • If no product is available, a refund is issued as soon as the brand confirms it.

Faulty straight out of the box? Some brands offer an immediate exchange, others a repair. Contact us to find out what applies to your product.

The warranty covers breakdowns occurring under normal use, as defined by the brand's terms. Product breakage (drop, impact, liquid…) is not covered, nor are certain consumable parts.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Is the HD650 really shock-resistant, or is it just an ordinary plastic case?
Its casing is based on a three-layer construction incorporating exceptionally elastic rubber, which absorbs shocks on all axes. The case is made of durable composite plastic, highly resistant to scuffs and scratches.
Is the drive protected against dust and water?
It is protected against dust and water, but this protection only applies when the USB port cover is tightly closed. With the cover open, and therefore during a transfer, the connector is no longer protected.
Does the HD650 need a mains power supply to work?
No: it is powered via the USB port at 5 V. A single cable handles both power and data transfer, with no power adapter to carry and no socket to look for.
What is in the box, and is the supplied cable enough on an old computer?
The box contains the USB 3.2 Gen 1 cable and a quick start guide. On a USB 2.0 port, you need to connect the drive to two ports using a Y-cable, to be bought separately, to get enough power.
Is it an SSD or a mechanical drive, and what is the interface speed?
It is a 2.5-inch mechanical hard drive, not an SSD. The interface is USB 3.2 Gen 1, which the USB Implementers Forum has renamed USB 5 Gbps, and it remains backward compatible with USB 2.0.
Does it work directly on a Mac?
It is compatible with Windows 7 to 11, macOS 10.6 or later and Linux (kernel 2.6 or later). On macOS, reformatting is required before use: do it before copying your files to it.
Is backup software included, and which system does it run on?
Yes, Backup ToGo is included free of charge, but it runs on Windows only. It runs automatic backups on the schedule you set, to the drive, a mobile device or the cloud.
Can you connect the HD650 to a games console?
Yes, as backup storage for games that are not currently in use. Formatting may be required, and support for external drives varies by console.
Up to what temperature can the HD650 operate?
Between 5 and 50 °C. So avoid leaving it in direct sunlight or in a closed vehicle.
What is the blue light on the drive for?
It shows both the power status and ongoing data transfers. As long as it indicates activity, do not unplug the drive.
Is the drive new and under warranty?
Yes: the ADATA DashDrive Durable HD650 is new and comes with a 1-year warranty, the invoice serving as the warranty document. It is supplied with its USB 3.2 Gen 1 cable and its quick start guide.
