Wi-Fi Direct, and what it does not change
The L3150 can create its own network: a phone or a laptop connects straight to it, with no router, no box and no shared Wi-Fi password. That is useful in a shop, on a building site, in premises with no network — or simply during an internet outage, when it carries on printing while everything else stops.
It has no effect whatsoever on the ink. The question comes up often because mobile printing takes a different route: rest assured, they are the same four 103 bottles, whatever way the document is sent.
A machine with no screen: reading the levels by eye
The L3150 has no display. That is no shortcoming here: the tanks are transparent and graduated, with a lower and an upper mark. It is the most reliable indicator there is — more so than a software gauge, which on this kind of machine is never more than an estimate.
Get into the habit of looking at them once a month. Never go below the minimum mark: the printhead, fixed and not replaceable on this range, is cooled by the ink flowing through it.
The same ink as the L3210 and L3250
The Epson 103 serves this whole generation: the L3210 on USB and the L3250 share exactly these four part numbers. One stock covers several machines. Do watch out for neighbouring series on 101, 104 or 105 — the L14150, for instance, is on 101.
