Which toner fits the HP Color LaserJet CP4025dn?

The three consumables people forget

A production colour laser does not just empty cartridges. Three components have their own life span, stated by the manufacturer:

• the toner collection unit (CE265A), rated for 36,000 pages: it gathers the surplus powder removed on every page. Once full, the machine stops, whatever state the toners are in;
• the fuser kit (CE246A in 110 V, CE247A in 220 V), rated for 150,000 pages: it is the oven that makes the powder bond to the paper;
• the image transfer kit (CE249A), also 150,000 pages: the belt that carries the four-colour image before laying it on the sheet.

In Morocco it is the CE247A that concerns you: the mains here is 220 V. The CE246A is meant for 110 V countries and should not be ordered here.

What that changes in the arithmetic

The collection unit is the one most often forgotten, and it is the most frequent: every 36,000 pages, or about four sets of colour toners. It does not cost much, and it immobilises the machine when it is missing — exactly the worst ratio between the price of a part and the cost of its absence.

The two 150,000-page kits belong to another horizon: on a cycle peaking at 100,000 pages a month they are planned for; in ordinary office use they often outlast the machine's service life.

One black and three colours from different families

The black is a 647A, the colours are 648A. That mismatch of naming on a single machine is surprising, but it is logical: the yields differ (8,500 against 11,000 pages) and HP makes them two separate families. Ordering "four 648A" therefore means receiving three usable cartridges and one that does not exist.

The Color LaserJet Enterprise M651dn has exactly the same quirk, with a 652A black and 654A colours.
