How many devices does the Omada OC300 controller manage?
100 routers, 100 switches and 500 access points from Omada, from a single interface, for up to 15,000 connected clients and 100 managed sites. That is the scale of a campus, a hotel chain or a multi-site network.
Does the Omada OC300 controller require a computer that is always on?
No: it is a hardware controller, a dedicated box that monitors the network continuously. It replaces the Windows computer that would otherwise have to be left on day and night to run the management software.
Do you need a subscription for remote management with the OC300?
No, Omada cloud access is subscription-free. You manage the network from anywhere, or locally if stability and privacy come first — both modes coexist, and the choice is the operator's.
Does the Omada OC300 support a guest access portal?
Yes, through a captive portal: printed vouchers, local accounts, SMS or a RADIUS server. That is the feature a hotel or a training centre expects: the guest gets named, time-limited access.
Does the Omada OC300 controller handle VPN tunnels?
Yes: IPSec, L2TP, PPTP and OpenVPN. These four protocols cover both a permanent link between two sites and the connection of a travelling employee, with no additional hardware.
What happens if the Omada OC300 controller fails?
It provides automatic backup of configurations and supports migration of a site or controller to another. The network is therefore rebuilt from the backup, without reconfiguring the devices one by one.
How is the Omada OC300 controller connected and powered?
Through two Gigabit Ethernet ports, with a 100-240 V mains power supply. USB ports allow configurations and statistics to be stored directly on the unit.
Can you delegate network administration with the Omada OC300?
Yes: up to 500 local accounts, with multi-level privileges. A site manager can thus view and reboot an access point without accessing the overall network configuration.
Is the TP-Link Omada OC300 controller new and under warranty?
New, reference OC300, in original TP-Link packaging. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year. Keep it: it is the document that will be requested if you make a claim.
