Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the HP LaserJet Pro 4303dw printer offer automatic double-sided printing?
Yes, automatic double-sided printing is standard. It prints at up to 33 ppm single-sided and 29 ipm double-sided, in both black and colour.
Does the automatic document feeder scan both sides?
The 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) makes it easy to copy and scan stacks of documents, but it is simplex: double-sided scanning through the feeder is not supported. The flatbed glass remains available.
Is a USB cable supplied with the HP 4303dw?
Yes. The box contains the printer, its 4 pre-installed toners, the power cable and a USB cable. The software is downloaded from hp.com or 123.hp.com (no CD).
What connectivity does the HP LaserJet Pro 4303dw offer?
It is very well connected: dual-band Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000), Bluetooth Low Energy and USB (rear port + front USB port). It also supports AirPrint, Mopria, Wi-Fi Direct and the HP Smart app.
Can you scan to PDF or send documents by email?
Yes, scans are saved as PDF, JPG or TIFF, and the control panel has buttons to scan, copy, send by email or create files. Colour copying and scanning are supported.
Does the HP 4303dw also fax?
No, this multifunction printer has no fax function. It handles colour printing, copying and scanning.
Can you print on envelopes or on sizes other than A4?
Yes. It accepts sizes from 76×127 mm up to 216×356 mm (Legal), as well as postcards, labels and envelopes. Supported paper weights range from 60 to 163 g/m² (up to 200 g/m² for glossy laser photo paper).
How much power does the HP LaserJet Pro 4303dw use?
In use, it draws about 585 W when actively printing, 18 W in ready mode and 0.8 W in sleep mode. Typical electricity consumption is about 0.42 kWh/week (Energy Star), with HP Auto-On/Auto-Off technologies.
Which toners are supplied with the printer, and what is their yield?
It comes with 4 pre-installed HP toners: the black lasts approx. 2,000 pages and the cyan, magenta and yellow sample cartridges approx. 1,000 pages each.
Which replacement cartridges should you use, and for how many pages?
The genuine toners are HP 230A (black ~2,000 pages, colour ~1,800 pages) and high-yield HP 230X (black ~7,500 pages, colour ~5,500 pages). An Instant Ink subscription is available.
Can you use non-HP cartridges in the 4303dw?
Worth knowing: this printer features a dynamic security system and is designed to work only with cartridges that have an HP chip (new or reused). Firmware updates may block cartridges with non-HP chips.
What print volume can the HP 4303dw handle?
Its duty cycle goes up to 50,000 pages/month, with a recommended volume of 750 to 4,000 pages/month. It is designed for an office team of up to 10 users.
