Does the Blackwire 3325 work with a computer without a USB-C port?
Yes. The cable is USB-C and a USB-C to USB-A adapter is included in the box: both port types are covered with nothing extra to buy. The same headset therefore works with a recent laptop and an older desktop.
Can the Blackwire 3325 be connected to a phone or tablet?
Yes, through the 3.5 mm jack connection that accompanies the USB link. The headset thus moves from computer to mobile with no dongle or pairing, which helps when video meetings take place on the laptop and calls on the phone.
Where does the control unit sit on the Blackwire 3325 cable?
At 66.5 cm from the headset, on a cable 2.15 m long in total up to the USB connector: the module therefore sits at chest height, within easy reach to answer, mute the mic or adjust the volume without taking your eyes off the screen.
Does the Blackwire 3325 protect your ears from sudden loud sounds?
Yes: SoundGuard technology limits sounds to below 118 dBA. The SoundGuard Digital functions, which go further in analysing the incoming level, do however require the Poly Lens app installed on the computer.
Does the Blackwire 3325 mic pick up colleagues' conversations?
It is noise-cancelling and mounted on a flexible 135 mm boom that rotates through 280°: placed in front of your mouth, it favours your voice. Its frequency response covers 100 Hz to 10 kHz, the useful range of speech, and its signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 24 dB.
Does the headset fit all head shapes properly?
The two speakers rotate through 180° to sit flat against each ear, the headband is padded and the ear cushions are faux leather. At 131 g on the head, it is this fit, more than the weight, that makes the difference over a day of calls.
Do you need to install software to use the Blackwire 3325?
No, it is recognised as soon as it is plugged in, on Windows 10 as on macOS. The Poly Lens app is then used to manage your device fleet, customise settings and enable the SoundGuard Digital functions.
