The PNY DGXSPARK-BUNDL-CABLE is a passive QSFP112 to QSFP112 direct-attach (DAC) cable, designed to interconnect two NVIDIA DGX Spark units and run them together as a cluster to handle larger AI models. What exactly is this PNY cable used for?
It connects two NVIDIA DGX Spark stations to each other through their QSFP network ports, so that they work as a single cluster. This lets you combine their unified memory and computing power for AI models too large for a single machine.
Does this cable need a power supply?
No. It is a passive direct attach cable (DAC): no active components and no power supply, unlike an optical transceiver. Simply plug it into the QSFP ports of the two DGX Spark units.
What throughput does this cable support?
Up to 200 Gbps, via its QSFP112 connectors, compatible with the NVIDIA ConnectX-7 network ports of the DGX Spark.
How long is the cable?
0.5 metre, intended to connect two DGX Spark stations placed side by side on the same desk or in the same rack.
Is this cable compatible with devices other than the DGX Spark?
It is designed and sold to interconnect two NVIDIA DGX Spark units via their ConnectX-7 ports. For any other QSFP112 networking use, check the compatibility of your equipment before buying.
