Frequently asked questions about this product
Does this shredder stop if a hand gets close?
Yes: SafeSense technology triggers an immediate stop as soon as a hand approaches the slot. That is the safety feature that matters in an open-plan office or one with visitors.
Does this shredder need to cool down between batches?
No: it runs continuously, with no cool-down break. That is what sets a professional model apart from a home machine, which stops after a few minutes.
Do you need to remove staples before shredding?
No: it also shreds staples, paper clips, credit cards and CDs or DVDs. Sorting beforehand, the main waste of time with this type of machine, is no longer needed.
What does this Fellowes shredder's cut produce?
4 × 38 mm particles, cross-cut, which corresponds to DIN P-4 security level — the level expected for confidential business documents.
Does this shredder jam if sheets are fed in at an angle?
No: it is stated to be 100% jam-proof, including when sheets are fed in at an angle. It takes 24 sheets per pass through a 240 mm slot.
Is this shredder noisy in a shared space?
It features SilentShred technology, designed for quiet shredding in shared spaces. It also goes into sleep mode automatically after 2 minutes of inactivity.
What is the bin capacity?
60 litres, or about 785 shredded sheets before it needs emptying. The bin pulls out and an indicator shows when it is full.
Is this Fellowes Powershred 225Ci shredder new and under warranty?
Yes, it is a new Fellowes shredder, the Powershred 225Ci, sized for a department of five or more people, with automatic start and stop. The invoice serves as the warranty document, for a period of 1 year.
