It is a genuine 60 ml Canon ink bottle, a bottle and not a clip-in cartridge. The “Ink cartridge (inkjet)” label refers to the product's printing technology, not its format.
Can I use it on a G-series PIXMA other than the G640 or G540?

How can I check that this really is genuine Canon ink and not a compatible one?

Is the GI-43BK sold individually or in a pack with the colour inks?
Individually. You receive a single bottle of 60 ml of black ink: cyan, magenta and yellow are not included in this reference. It therefore only supplies the black of your PIXMA G640 or G540.
Do the stated 3,800 pages correspond to a single 60 ml bottle?
Yes. The 3,800 pages are the yield of a single 60 ml bottle of black ink, not of a batch of several bottles. It is this high yield that lowers the printing cost on large volumes.
Is the bottle new and covered by a warranty?
Yes. A new, genuine Canon bottle, covered for 1 year: the purchase invoice supplied with the order serves as the warranty document, so keep it.
