Will my screen be compatible with this Fellowes Reflex arm?
You need a VESA 75 x 75 or 100 x 100 mm mount, a maximum weight of 8 kg and a diagonal of up to 32 inches (81.28 cm), with a screen height not exceeding 832 mm. Beyond these values, the arm is outside its load limits.
How does it attach to the desk, and is my desktop suitable?
Two mounting methods are provided as standard: the clamp, for a desktop 10 to 88 mm thick, and mounting through a grommet, for a desktop 10 to 75 mm thick and a hole 10.5 to 70 mm in diameter. Measure the thickness of your desk before choosing.
How far can the screen be raised and brought forward?
The height adjusts from 58 to 416 mm above the desktop, on a 450 mm pole, and the reach ranges from 63.5 to 422 mm. Enough to bring the top of the screen to eye level and place it at arm's length, the two reference points of a properly set-up workstation.
Can the height be changed in one movement, as on a spring arm?
The height is chosen and then locked on a fixed vertical bar, between 58 and 416 mm above the desktop. Tilt (± 45°), rotation (360°) and swivel (± 90°), on the other hand, remain adjustable.
Can the screen be switched to portrait mode?
Yes. The head rotates 360° to turn the screen to portrait, the arm swivels through 180° (± 90°), its upper section through 180°, and tilt covers 90° (± 45°). This model is, however, designed for a single screen of 8 kg maximum.
Is the ergonomics of this arm really certified?
Yes, by an independent body: it is tested by FIRA International to the EN ISO 9241-5 standard (workstation layout and postural requirements), and meets clauses 22, 23 and 24 of the ANSI/BIFMA x5.5-2014 standard for desks and tables.
What is it made of, and does it really support 8 kg?
Most of its 3.39 kg is steel (3,053 g), with 255 g of aluminium and only 85 g of plastic, for a capacity of 8 kg. It is made from 45% recycled materials and is 97% recyclable at end of life, with 100% recyclable packaging.
Can this model hold two screens?
No, it is a single arm: one screen only. To equip a dual-screen workstation, you need two arms, each holding up to 8 kg and 32 inches. The integrated cable management, meanwhile, keeps cables out of sight.
Is there any maintenance to plan once the arm is installed?
Yes, two simple steps: regularly check that the screws are tight and clean with a damp cloth, without detergent. The arm is also intended for indoor use only.
Is the monitor arm new and under warranty?
Yes: new, genuine and sealed in its original packaging, supplied with its invoice, which serves as the warranty document for 1 year. All the adjustment, mounting and VESA compatibility dimensions are given in the manufacturer's datasheet (PDF).
