1 year manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.
  • If no product is available, a refund is issued as soon as the brand confirms it.

Faulty straight out of the box? Some brands offer an immediate exchange, others a repair. Contact us to find out what applies to your product.

The warranty covers breakdowns occurring under normal use, as defined by the brand's terms. Product breakage (drop, impact, liquid…) is not covered, nor are certain consumable parts.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Is the hard drive supplied with the enclosure?
No, the drive is not included: the 50743 is an empty enclosure in which you install your own 2.5-inch SATA drive. This lets you choose the capacity freely, or give a second life to the drive from an old laptop.
Which drives does it accept exactly?
2.5-inch SATA III, II and I drives, 7 to 9.5 mm thick, up to 6 TB. Check the thickness before buying: beyond 9.5 mm, the drive will not fit in the enclosure.
Do you need tools to mount the drive?
No: installation is tool-free, with no screwdriver and no screws to lose — the enclosure slides open and the drive pushes into place. Its plastic shell contains EVA foam pads that hold the drive in place against knocks and scratches, and it slips into a bag pocket.
My new drive does not appear in File Explorer: is it faulty?
No: a new drive must first be partitioned and formatted. In Windows, right-click This PC, then Computer Management → Storage → Disk Management, select the added drive and create a new volume, keeping the default values.
Which cable is supplied, and which port should it be plugged into?
The cable supplied is a USB-C to USB-A cable: USB-C at the enclosure end, and a USB-A 3.0 port at the computer end. It remains backward compatible with a USB 2.0 port on an older machine. If your computer only has USB-C ports, you will also need a USB-C to USB-C cable.
What transfer speed can you expect?
Up to 6 Gbps thanks to the USB-C 3.1 Gen2 interface, beyond what USB 3.0 enclosures allow. Enough to copy a large backup or work directly from an external drive.
Does it work with a Mac or a Linux machine?
Yes: it is listed as compatible with Windows 10, 8, 7 and Vista, Linux and Mac OS 8.0 and later. Remember to partition and format the drive before first use, in the file system the machine expects.
Is the enclosure new and under warranty?
Yes: the Ugreen 50743 enclosure is new, in its original packaging, with its invoice, which serves as the warranty document for 1 year. The warranty covers the enclosure and its cable, as the hard drive is not supplied.
