Non-contractual photos

The visuals on this page are supplied by the manufacturer. They are frequently produced for a whole range — not for the exact model you are viewing: what you see in the photo is never a promise of what is included.

No exchange, return or cancellation will be accepted on the grounds that something seen in a photo (accessory, port, colour, keyboard layout, packaging…) is not found on the delivered product. Only the specifications written on the page are binding for the order.

What the image does not guarantee:

  • Compatibility : the printers visible in the image are only an example of use: only the exact reference of the consumable guarantees compatibility with your machine.
  • Quantity : an image of a multipack or a multicolour set says nothing about the packaging sold — the number of units and the colour are those of the title and the specifications.
  • Yield : standard, XL and high-yield versions most often share the same photo.
  • Colour : one image often serves several colours, and the shade you see depends on studio lighting as much as on your screen settings; the colour sold is the one in the title and the specifications.
  • Props and accessories : the items shown around the product (cables, stands, decorative objects, content displayed on screen) are not included unless explicitly stated.
  • Packaging : boxes, labels and bundles change with the manufacturer's revisions: the packaging delivered may differ from the one in the photo.

What is binding: the product title, this page's technical specifications, the description and, when provided, the manufacturer's PDF datasheet available in the downloads.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Which Canon printers take the CH-40 Color printhead?
It is listed as compatible with eight models: Pixma G1420, G2420, G2460, G3420, G3460, G5040, G6040 and G7040. Note the exact model shown on the front of your printer: G-series models look very alike, and a single digit changes the reference to order.
Can you replace it yourself, or do you need a repairer?
You can do it yourself: it is designed to be easy to install, so the printer is back in service quickly. You can resume printing straight away rather than leaving the printer tied up in a workshop, which makes all the difference when it is used every day.
Why change the printhead rather than the printer?
Because it is the part that determines print quality: vivid colours, sharp details and smooth gradients depend directly on it. Replacing it gives your Pixma G professional print quality again, for documents and photos alike, without changing machine.
Is it a part built to last or a consumable you need to rebuy often?
It is a replacement part: it is stated to offer a long service life and reliable performance over the long term. Once fitted, it is not meant to keep coming back into your basket.
Is the printhead a genuine Canon part, and is it under warranty?
Yes: a new Canon part in original packaging, manufacturer reference 3430C001AA and EAN code 4549292134872 so you can check that it is indeed the colour version. It is covered by a 1-year warranty, with the purchase invoice serving as the warranty document.
