Do you need rear speakers with the JBL Bar 500?
No: it creates 3D surround sound using MultiBeam technology, which bounces sound off the walls to simulate side speakers. A wireless subwoofer completes the setup, with no cable to run.
How much power does the JBL Bar 500 deliver?
590 W in total, subwoofer included. The 10-inch wireless subwoofer is what really delivers the bass: it is its diameter, more than the stated power, that determines how deep the bass goes.
What is the difference between the JBL Bar 500 and Bar 800?
The rear speakers. The Bar 800 has two, detachable and battery-powered, for 720 W; the Bar 500 recreates surround by bouncing sound off the walls, for 590 W. Two approaches, two different results at the back of the room.
Is dialogue clear on the JBL Bar 500?
Yes, thanks to PureVoice technology, which preserves voices even in the most intense scenes. This is the most common flaw of soundbars: having to turn up the volume to understand dialogue.
Does the JBL Bar 500 connect wirelessly?
Yes, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in. Wi-Fi is for streaming from a music service in higher quality; Bluetooth for instantly connecting a visitor's phone.
Is the JBL Bar 500 soundbar new and under warranty?
New, in black, in original JBL packaging, subwoofer included. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year. Keep it: it is the document that will be requested if you make a claim.
