Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the AOC 27G50Z really reach 260 Hz?
Its native refresh rate is 240 Hz; the 260 Hz is reached by overclocking, which you enable from the menu. Adaptive sync then covers the entire range, from 48 to 260 Hz.
How good are the colours of the 27G50Z's Fast IPS panel?
It covers 121.5% of the sRGB colour space and 92.3% of DCI-P3, with 300 cd/m² and a 1000:1 contrast ratio, over 178° viewing angles. HDR10 compatibility extends the contrast range on content that makes use of it.
What do the two response times of the 27G50Z mean?
1 ms grey-to-grey, which times how long a pixel takes to change, and 0.3 ms MPRT, which measures the blur perceived on a moving image. Both values are accurate: they simply do not describe the same thing.
Does the AOC 27G50Z have speakers?
No, there are no built-in speakers and no USB hub. Sound goes through the 3.5 mm headphone output on the monitor, or through your computer's outputs.
What video inputs does the AOC 27G50Z offer?
One HDMI 2.0 input and one DisplayPort 1.4 input, plus a headphone output. From a laptop whose only video output is USB-C, plan for an adapter to one of these two formats, provided that port supports video.
Is the AOC 27G50Z stand height-adjustable?
No: only the tilt is adjustable, from -5° to +20°. VESA 100 x 100 mm mounting is still possible for a monitor arm; the panel alone is just 36.2 mm thick, for 3.16 kg in total.
What trade-off does a 27-inch Full HD monitor at 240 Hz represent?
The large screen size brings immersion and Full HD resolution remains light to render, which helps the graphics card feed the 240 Hz. Up close, however, the grain is more noticeable than on a 24-inch monitor.
Is the AOC 27G50Z monitor new and under warranty?
Yes: new, in its original packaging, with a one-year warranty; your invoice serves as the warranty document. The manufacturer's technical document is attached to this page.
