The SHK-2 is a shock mount made to measure for the PreSonus Revelator microphone. The mic floats in its elastic cords: keyboard strokes, knocks on the table and handling gestures no longer reach the capsule.

For streaming, podcasting and recording at the desk

Mounted on an arm clamped to the desk, a microphone picks up every vibration of the worktop, and they end up as a dull rumble in the recording or the live stream. The SHK-2 decouples the Revelator from that support. Its metal structure, black finish, also protects the mic from scratches and looks neat on camera when it appears in the frame.

A spare cord already in the box

The elastic cords do all the isolation work: an extra cord is supplied to replace the one that loosens with use, without buying the mount again. The box also contains a rigid stand mount. The Revelator microphone, the stand and the arm are not included.

Is the SHK-2 suitable for microphones other than the Revelator?
It is custom-made for the PreSonus Revelator: its shape fits this specific microphone, and it is designed for it. For another model, you need a shock mount suited to its diameter and mounting system.
What is a shock mount for?
It isolates the microphone from vibrations travelling through the stand or the desk: strokes of a mechanical keyboard, knocks on the table, a mic brushed while speaking. Without it, these shocks end up in the recording or the live stream as dull rumbles.
What is in the SHK-2 box?
The SHK-2 shock mount, a spare elastic cord and a rigid stand mount. The Revelator microphone, the stand and the boom arm are not included.
What is the SHK-2 made of?
Metal, black finish: a solid construction that also protects the microphone from scratches and looks neat on screen, a useful detail in video or live streams when the mic appears in the camera frame.
Can the elastic cord be replaced?
Yes: a spare elastic cord is supplied in the box. When the original cord loosens with use, replacing it restores the mount's hold and its effectiveness against shocks, without buying the whole part again.
