The B35 brings together two metal thread adapters to fit a microphone clip with the large thread, 5/8", on a stand with the small thread, 3/8".

Two threads, one linking part

Microphone stands and clips come in these two standards, and a 5/8" clip does not screw onto a 3/8" stand on its own. The adapter makes the link with any 3/8" thread: at the top of a straight stand, at the end of a boom or on a desk stand. The blister pack holds two, for a second clip or to keep a spare in the gig bag.

To find out which thread your clip has, measure the thread diameter: about 15.9 mm for 5/8", 9.5 mm for 3/8".

What is the Yellow Cable B35 adapter for?
For fitting a microphone clip with a 5/8" thread, the large thread, on a microphone stand with a 3/8" thread, the small one. This is the case of a clip designed for 5/8" thread stands that you want to use on a 3/8" thread microphone stand.
How many adapters are in the B35 blister pack?
Two, made of metal, sold together in a blister pack. One is enough for a clip; the second lets you fit a second clip or keep a spare in the gig bag, because these small parts are easily lost when packing up.
How can I tell whether my clip is 5/8" or 3/8"?
By measuring the thread diameter: a 5/8" thread is about 15.9 mm, a 3/8" thread about 9.5 mm. If the clip is 5/8" and the stand 3/8", the B35 makes the link; if both already share the same thread, it is not needed.
Can the B35 also be fitted at the end of a boom?
Yes, as long as the boom ends with a 3/8" thread: the adapter connects the 5/8" clip to any 3/8" thread, whether at the top of a straight stand, at the end of a boom or on a desk stand.
Why are there two thread sizes for microphones?
Microphone stands and clips are made to two standards, 3/8" and 5/8", depending on brands and countries. A microphone supplied with a 5/8" clip therefore does not screw directly onto a 3/8" stand: the adapter saves you from changing the clip or the stand.
