The MD55 is a small polyurethane foam panel, 30 x 30 cm and 55 mm thick. It is glued to the wall or ceiling, on its own or in a pattern, to absorb the mid and high frequencies of a studio, a rehearsal room or a home cinema.

Its absorption coefficient rises from 0.63 at 500 Hz to 0.90 at 4,000 Hz, for an NRC of 0.60; in the low end it stays at 0.12 at 125 Hz. Each panel weighs 80 g and is mounted with Flexi Glue Ultra adhesive, sold separately, applied in strips 5 cm from the edges.
Vicoustic sells the MD55 in boxes of 32 or 64; this listing sells it panel by panel, and the code B00017 shown here is that of the box of 32. Eleven panels cover 0.99 m². Residential and private use: the foam is combustible.

Is this price for one MD55 panel or for a box?
For a single panel. Vicoustic packs the MD55 in boxes of 32 or 64, but this listing sells it individually, so you can order exactly the quantity you need. Each panel measures 30 x 30 cm: eleven panels cover roughly one square metre.
How is the MD55 panel mounted?
With adhesive, on the wall or ceiling, using Flexi Glue Ultra sold separately. Vicoustic recommends applying the glue in strips on the back of the panel, about 5 cm from the edges, then pressing for 15 seconds. A level and a tape measure help align the panels; on a ceiling, a prop holds them while the glue dries.
Can MD55 panels be arranged in a pattern?
Yes: the MD55 is installed on its own or in a pattern. In the manufacturer's photos, the panels alternate the orientation of their ridges, every other one turned a quarter turn, which forms a checkerboard.
Which frequencies does the MD55 absorb?
Mid and high frequencies: its absorption coefficient rises from 0.63 at 500 Hz to 0.90 at 4000 Hz, for an NRC of 0.60. In the low end it stays weak, at 0.12 at 125 Hz.
Is the MD55 suitable for a venue open to the public?
The manufacturer intends it for residential and private use. Its polyurethane foam is combustible, rated Euroclass F, and it is up to the user to comply with local fire safety rules, particularly in concert halls, bars or crowded venues.
