The König & Meyer 23840 arm clamps onto the edge of a desk and carries a microphone, a tablet or a smartphone up to 0.8 kg. Its three sections, balanced by springs, bring it up to 820 mm from the clamp.

Springs that act as a counterweight
Without a load, the springs pull the arm upwards: that is its starting position. The weight of the microphone balances this tension, and K&M states that the mechanism works best with a load close to 0.8 kg. Three knurled nuts at the joints add just enough friction to stop the arm moving on its own; once the balance is found, it moves without loosening them.
A clamp for a board or tube
The table clamp grips a board or tube up to 51 mm. Its metal frame, fitted with plastic inserts and a non-slip support, is shaped to hold on a smooth surface as well as on a round tube. The arm's rod fits into it, is oriented, then locked by a knurled screw.
Supplied without cable, ready for yours
The arm has no built-in cable: you run the one that suits your microphone, held by four clips that attach to the profile and then slide along the arms. The 3/8" and 5/8" connectors accept both common clip threads.

No: the 23840 is supplied without cable, so you can connect the one that suits your microphone. Four supplied clips hold the cable along the arms; they clip on where you want and then slide to follow the movement.
