of the M-Series.

This genuine stereo adapter screws onto the 3.5 mm mini-jack plug of an Audio-Technica M-Series headphone cable and converts it into a 6.35 mm jack. It is the part supplied with these headphones, offered as a spare.

For which headphones

Audio-Technica intends it for the ATH-M30x, the ATH-M40x, the ATH-M50x in all colours, the ATH-M60x, ATH-M70x and ATH-R70x, as well as the ATH-PRO5x DJ headphones. Screwed on, it stays in place on the plug; unscrewed, the cable gets its 3.5 mm plug back for a phone or a computer. The 6.35 mm jack is for audio interfaces, consoles, amplifiers and instruments.

It does not fit the older ATH-M30, ATH-M40 and ATH-M50 without the « x ». The ATH-M20x comes with a clip-on adapter, which is not this part.

Which headphones is this adapter compatible with?
Audio-Technica intends it for the ATH-M30x, ATH-M40x, ATH-M50x, ATH-M60x, ATH-M70x and ATH-R70x headphones: it is the 6.35 mm screw-on adapter supplied with them, as a spare part. The ATH-M20x, however, comes with a clip-on adapter, which is not this part.
What is it for?
It converts the 3.5 mm mini-jack plug of the headphone cable into a 6.35 mm jack, the format of audio interfaces, mixing desks, hi-fi amplifiers and instruments. It screws onto the cable plug, which holds it in place, and unscrews to go back to a phone or a computer. It is the genuine Audio-Technica part.
Does it fit the older ATH-M50, ATH-M40 or ATH-M30?
No. Audio-Technica states that this adapter does not fit the older ATH-M30, ATH-M40 and ATH-M50 versions without the final « x ». It is designed for the « x » generation: ATH-M30x, M40x, M50x (all colours), M60x, M70x and R70x, as well as the ATH-PRO5x DJ headphones.
Is it the adapter supplied with the headphones?
Yes, it is the same part as the 6.35 mm screw-on adapter supplied as standard with the « x » M-Series headphones, offered as a spare part by Audio-Technica. It replaces a lost or damaged adapter, without buying a new cable or headphones, and screws onto the 3.5 mm plug in the same way.
Which plugs does it connect?
It receives the 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack plug of the headphone cable and extends it into a 6.35 mm stereo jack, the headphone socket of audio interfaces, mixing desks, amplifiers and instruments. It is a stereo adapter: it keeps both channels of the headphones, left and right.
