The MA91 is a large-diameter pop filter: a 185 mm double-layer nylon fabric screen, carried by an 8.5 mm gooseneck and a clamp that tightens onto the microphone stand.
A large screen that follows the voice
At 185 mm, the screen widely covers the area in front of the capsule of a studio microphone. It adjusts through 180° and the gooseneck bends to bring it to mouth height. The two nylon layers break up the air burst of plosives, the p and b sounds that overload the microphone, before it reaches the diaphragm. The whole unit, screen, gooseneck and clamp, weighs 450 g.
The MA91 attaches to the stand, not to the microphone: you set the distance between the screen and the capsule by bending the gooseneck. Its clamp is fitted with an anti-scratch pad.
