This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Superlux HM26A · Reference HM26A

The shock mount
for CMH8 microphones.

The HM26A is an elastic shock mount with a plastic frame, designed for Superlux large-diaphragm microphones: CMH8A, CMH8B, CMH8C, CMH8D and CMH8G, as well as CMH8AH, CMH8BH and CMH8CH.

The microphone floats, the shocks stay in the stand

Held by elastic ties, the microphone does not rest directly on the stand: shocks, footsteps on the floor and vibrations coming up the tube are damped before they reach the capsule. The mount screws onto the microphone stand with the supplied YA2 threaded adapter, made of zinc alloy, which converts the 5/8″ thread to 3/8″.

The HM26A is intended for the CMH8 microphones listed above. For a slim microphone 22 to 26 mm in diameter, choose the HM26B; for the same CMH8 microphones in a champagne silver finish, the HM7.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Which microphones is the HM26A compatible with?
It is designed for Superlux large-diaphragm microphones CMH8A, CMH8B, CMH8C, CMH8D, CMH8G, as well as CMH8AH, CMH8BH and CMH8CH. For a slim microphone 22 to 26 mm in diameter, the HM26B shock mount is the one you need.
What is the difference between the HM26A and the HM7?
Both hold the same Superlux CMH8 series microphones. The HM26A has a plastic frame; the HM7, champagne silver, takes the microphone through an M22 × 1 thread.
Is the thread adapter supplied?
Yes, the zinc alloy YA2 threaded adapter is supplied with the mount. It converts the 5/8" thread to 3/8", the two common microphone stand threads, so the mount screws onto your stand.
What is a shock mount for?
It holds the microphone with elastic ties: shocks and vibrations coming up through the stand or the floor are damped before they reach the capsule, and are no longer heard in the recording.
Is the HM26A made of metal?
No: its frame is plastic, and the microphone is held in it by elastic ties. Only the supplied YA2 threaded adapter is made of zinc alloy. For the same CMH8 microphones, the champagne silver HM7 takes the microphone through an M22 × 1 thread.
