Superlux HM26B · Reference HM26B

For microphones
22 to 26 mm across.

The HM26B is an elastic shock mount with a plastic frame for microphones whose body is 22 to 26 mm in diameter. It screws onto a microphone stand, with the supplied YA2 threaded adapter.

Measure before you choose

It all comes down to the diameter of the microphone body where the mount holds it: from 22 to 26 mm, it sits in the frame, held by elastic ties that damp the shocks and vibrations coming up through the stand before they reach the capsule. The YA2 adapter, made of zinc alloy, converts the 5/8″ thread to 3/8″ to screw onto either type of stand.

A wider large-diaphragm studio microphone does not fit in the HM26B: for Superlux CMH8 series microphones, choose the HM26A or the HM7.

Will my microphone fit in the HM26B?
Yes if it measures 22 to 26 mm in diameter where the mount holds it. Measure the body of the microphone before ordering: a wider large-diaphragm microphone, such as the Superlux CMH8, needs the HM26A or the HM7.
Is the thread adapter supplied?
Yes, the zinc alloy YA2 threaded adapter is supplied with the mount. It converts the 5/8" thread to 3/8", the two common microphone stand threads, so the mount screws onto your stand.
What is a shock mount for?
It holds the microphone with elastic ties: shocks and vibrations coming up through the stand or the floor are damped before they reach the capsule, and are no longer heard in the recording.
Is the HM26B made of metal?
No, its frame is black plastic, and the microphone is held in it by elastic ties. Only the supplied YA2 threaded adapter is made of zinc alloy: it is the part that screws onto the microphone stand.
