The microphone screws in,
the vibrations stop.

The HM7 is a champagne silver elastic shock mount for a large-diaphragm condenser microphone. The microphone screws into it through an M22 × 1 thread; it is designed for Superlux CMH8A, CMH8B, CMH8C, CMH8D, CMH8G, CMH8AH, CMH8BH and CMH8CH.

A screwed-in microphone, suspended in elastic

The M22 × 1 thread, 22 mm in diameter with a 1 mm pitch, takes the Superlux CMH8 series microphone directly. Suspended by elastic ties, it is isolated from vibrations passed on by the stand. On the stand side, the supplied YA2 threaded adapter, made of zinc alloy, converts the 5/8″ thread to 3/8″.

The Superlux CMH8K is not intended for the HM7. For the same CMH8 microphones with a black plastic frame, see the HM26A.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Which microphones is the HM7 compatible with?
With Superlux large-diaphragm microphones CMH8A, CMH8B, CMH8C, CMH8D, CMH8G and CMH8AH, CMH8BH, CMH8CH, which screw onto its M22 × 1 thread. The CMH8K is not one of them.
What is the M22 × 1 thread?
A screw thread 22 mm in diameter with a 1 mm pitch, through which the microphone screws into the mount. The Superlux CMH8 series microphones listed by the brand have this thread.
What is the difference between the HM7 and the HM26A?
Both are designed for the same Superlux CMH8 microphones. The HM7, champagne silver, takes the microphone through an M22 × 1 thread; the HM26A has a black plastic frame.
Is the thread adapter supplied?
Yes, the zinc alloy YA2 threaded adapter is supplied with the mount. It converts the 5/8" thread to 3/8", the two common microphone stand threads, so the mount screws onto your stand.
What is in the HM7 box?
The HM7 shock mount, in champagne silver, and its YA2 zinc alloy threaded adapter (5/8" to 3/8"). The Superlux CMH8 microphone then screws into the mount through its M22 × 1 thread.
What is a shock mount for?
It holds the microphone with elastic ties: shocks and vibrations coming up through the stand or the floor are damped before they reach the capsule, and are no longer heard in the recording.
