Frequently asked questions about this product

Can you move a file from one computer to another with the HP 435 mouse?
Yes. The cursor moves from one screen to the other and lets you drag and drop a file between two computers — including between Windows and macOS. It is this mouse's least-known and most useful feature.
How many devices can the HP 435 control?
Two, connected either through the supplied USB-A nano receiver or via Bluetooth. This is what lets you switch from one computer to the other without re-pairing every time.
Is the battery supplied with the HP 435?
Yes, an AA battery is included, and it lasts up to 24 months thanks to the smart power system. Nothing to recharge, nothing to buy on the day you set it up.
What are the 24 months of battery life based on?
On a 5-day week at 8 hours a day. HP states that actual battery life varies with use and environmental conditions, and naturally decreases over time.
Does the HP 435 mouse work on any surface?
Almost: the Blue Optical sensor tracks even on marble, a surface where a conventional optical sensor loses track. On clear glass, a mouse pad is still advisable.
What sensitivity does the HP 435 offer?
From 800 to 4,000 dpi, with a nominal value of 1,200 dpi. The scroll wheel speed can also be adjusted, via the HP Accessory Center software.
How many buttons does the HP 435 have, and are they programmable?
Five buttons, four of them programmable via the free HP Accessory Center software, available from the Microsoft Store or the App Store.
Which applications are the shortcuts designed for?
HP gives a specific list: SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, SketchUp, Adobe, AutoCAD, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Shortcuts are configured per application, not globally.
Is the HP 435 suitable for a left-handed user?
Yes. HP states it explicitly: the shape, buttons and scroll wheel were designed for left-handed and right-handed users alike. The product's specifications also list it as ambidextrous.
Is the HP 435's wireless connection encrypted?
Yes, with 128-bit AES. The connection combines Bluetooth 5.0 and a 2.4 GHz link: a point to check in organisations subject to a peripheral security policy.
How much recycled material does the HP 435 contain?
Two figures, for two scopes: the mouse is made with 77% post-consumer recycled plastic, and its packaging with 85% recycled paper.
What are the dimensions and weight of the HP 435?
