How much wall width do you actually need to install this 200 cm screen?
Allow 213.5 cm: that is the length of the case, noticeably wider than the 200 cm of usable picture area. The weighted bottom bar measures 204.5 cm. Check this clearance before drilling, especially between two uprights, under a beam or near a corner.
Can it be mounted on the ceiling instead of the wall?
Yes. Combined wall or ceiling brackets are built into the ends of the screen: the same model can be installed either way. The case, made of white lacquered sheet steel, can therefore hang on a partition wall just as well as suspended from a ceiling.
How can it be moved away from the wall if there is a board or an obstacle behind it?
Oray offers optional extension brackets, sold in pairs, in 10, 20, 30 or 40 cm (part numbers OPTECAR10 to OPTECAR40). They move the case forward to clear a whiteboard, a moulding or a protruding wall, without giving up wall mounting.
Can the screen fabric be stopped at any height?
Yes: the any-height stop mechanism locks the fabric approximately every 10 cm. You can therefore unroll only part of the 200 cm and match the surface to the projected format, 16:9 or 4:3.
What happens if you pull the fabric too hard when unrolling it?
The mechanism is specifically designed to prevent the screen from locking in the lowered position when it is pulled down too far — the classic mishap with spring-loaded screens. Retraction is by silent spring, with no jolts or distracting noise in the middle of a meeting or a screening.
Does the fabric stay flat, without ripples?
Yes. The weighted bar at the bottom of the screen incorporates a fabric tensioning system that keeps it taut and eliminates unwanted ripples.
Is this screen suitable for intensive professional use, in a meeting room or classroom?
Its projection surface is a fire-retardant M1-rated matte white and its case is made of white lacquered sheet steel, not plastic. It is a design intended for professional as well as home installations, with built-in wall or ceiling brackets.
Is the projection screen new and under warranty?
Yes: new in its original packaging, delivered with its invoice, which serves as the warranty document for 1 year. The full installation dimensions are given in the Oray datasheet (PDF).
