1 year manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.
  • If no product is available, a refund is issued as soon as the brand confirms it.

Frequently asked questions about this product

What is in the box, and what type of drive does the MHC201 accept?
The box contains the enclosure, an A-to-C data cable and a C-to-A adapter. The MHC201 takes a 2.5-inch SATA drive, mechanical (HDD) or SSD, both handled by the SATA III protocol: so you can fit it with a drive salvaged from elsewhere.
What throughput can this enclosure sustain?
It is rated at 6 Gbps, with a USB 3.1 Type-C output and the SATA III protocol internally. The VL716 controller chip maintains this link with an SSD as well as with a mechanical drive. The intended use is moving and storing large volumes of data.
My computer only has USB-A ports: can I still use it?
Yes, without buying anything extra: the enclosure is supplied with an A-to-C cable for standard USB-A ports and a C-to-A adapter. A recent Type-C machine and an older computer are both covered from the outset.
Does the drive stop on its own when it is not in use?
Yes. A smart sleep mode puts the drive into hibernation after 10 minutes of inactivity: it stops spinning during idle periods, which extends its lifespan. Useful for an enclosure left permanently connected to an editing or retouching workstation.
Does it work with a Mac, on Linux or on an Android smartphone?
Yes: Windows, macOS, Linux and Android are supported, the enclosure's output being USB 3.1 Type-C. The same drive can therefore move between a workstation, a Mac and an Android mobile.
Is it really portable for everyday use?
Yes: 126 × 81 × 14 mm and 60 g, in a black ABS shell. It slips into a bag pocket next to a laptop — indeed, the manufacturer targets graphic designers and video editors on the move. Stability and portability are the two focuses claimed for this compact format.
Is this enclosure certified and under warranty?
Yes: CE, RoHS and FCC certified, with a 1-year limited warranty. It is new, supplied with its invoice, which serves as the warranty document. Full specifications are given in the datasheet (PDF).
