Is the Grandstream GSC3510 a simple speaker or an intercom?
A fully fledged SIP intercom: it combines a speaker and microphones to provide two-way voice communication over the company's telephone network. It is used as much for making announcements as for answering calls, in an office, a school or a hospital.
From what distance does the GSC3510 pick up voices?
Up to 4.2 metres. Three directional microphones work together as a beamforming array (MMAD), which lets them target the person speaking rather than picking up everything. Acoustic echo cancellation completes the set-up in full duplex.
How is the GSC3510 powered?
Through the network cable: it has a 10/100 Mbps port compatible with PoE and PoE+. A single Ethernet connection therefore carries both power and data. You will, however, need a PoE switch or injector, the exact standard to meet being that of the port.
Can a call button be connected to the GSC3510?
Yes. It has a 2-pin multi-purpose input designed for external peripherals, call buttons included. This is what lets you turn the device into a one-touch call station at the entrance of a building.
Does the GSC3510 work without a network cable?
It has built-in dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, in addition to the Ethernet port. Wi-Fi opens up locations where running a cable would be costly — bearing in mind that PoE power, for its part, does go through the cable.
What audio quality does the GSC3510 deliver?
An 8-watt HD speaker with a high-definition acoustic chamber, and support for wideband and full-band codecs, including Opus and G.722. G.722 doubles the bandwidth of a conventional phone call: voices become noticeably more intelligible.
Can unwanted calls be blocked on the GSC3510?
Yes, the device has a built-in whitelist and blacklist. This matters on an exposed intercom: only authorised extensions can reach it or trigger an announcement.
Does the GSC3510 work with other Grandstream equipment?
Yes, that is where it really comes into its own: paired with Grandstream desk and wireless IP phones and GDS series facility access products, it forms a complete intercom and security solution, managed as a single system.
Is the Grandstream GSC3510 intercom new and under warranty?
New, reference GSC3510, in original packaging. The invoice serves as the warranty document for 1 year. The datasheet details all the network and audio specifications.
