What power connector does the RTX 5070 12G VENTUS 2X OC require?
A 16-pin connector, not the 8-pin one you might expect on a card of this format. MSI recommends a 650 W unit for the whole machine. Check that your power supply has this 16-pin cable, or its adapter.
12 GB of GDDR7 on a 192-bit bus: what is it worth?
It is the step above cards with 8 GB and a 128-bit bus: 12 GB at 28 Gbps on a bus one and a half times wider, driven by 6,144 CUDA cores. The recommended gaming resolution is 1440p, with headroom for detailed textures and ray tracing.
Is the 8K advertised on this card meant for gaming?
The figure 7680 × 4320 corresponds to the maximum supported display resolution, i.e. what the card can send to a monitor. The recommended gaming resolution for this model is 1440p: the two figures answer two different questions.
How long is this RTX 5070 VENTUS?
236 mm long, 126 mm high, 50 mm thick, weighing 774 g. That is a restrained size for a card of this power, but the 50 mm thickness goes beyond a strict dual-slot width: check that a slot remains free below the graphics slot.
Do the fans stop when the card is not working?
Yes. Zero Frozr stops them completely when the temperature stays low, which eliminates all noise during office work. The Torx 5.0 fans, whose blades are linked by rings, then maintain high air pressure over a large heatsink, complemented by a nickel-plated copper baseplate.
How many displays, and is it G-SYNC compatible?
Four displays at most, on three DisplayPort 2.1b and one HDMI 2.1b output — the latter supporting 4K at 480 Hz or 8K at 120 Hz with DSC compression, VRR and HDR. G-SYNC is supported, as is HDCP.
What protects the card from electrical failures?
Additional fuses built into the circuit board and DrMOS power stages, more efficient and with improved voltage control. The metal backplate also stiffens the card while releasing excess heat through its openings.
Is the card new and under warranty?
Yes, new and covered for 1 year, with your invoice serving as the warranty document. The exact reference is 912-V532-003; all the specifications are given in the MSI technical documentation.
