What power supply does the RTX 5050 SHADOW 2X OC need?
A 550 W power supply recommended and one 8-pin connector. This is a modest requirement, compatible with most mid-range power supplies: simply check that an 8-pin PCIe cable is still free in your system.
Will this RTX 5050 fit in a compact case?
Yes: 197 mm long and 40 mm thick, it is one of the shortest designs of its generation. MSI explicitly positions it for compact builds, and its dual Torx 5.0 fans fit within this footprint without overhanging.
What clock speed does this card run at, and how many cores does it have?
2,602 MHz boost, and 2,617 MHz with the “Extreme Performance” mode in MSI Center. It has 2,560 CUDA cores based on the Blackwell architecture and 8 GB of GDDR6 at 20 Gbps on a 128-bit bus.
What gaming resolution is it designed for?
1080p, the recommended resolution for this model, with DLSS 4 and full ray tracing enabled depending on the title. The 5th-generation Tensor cores and 4th-generation ray tracing cores let it enable these options without the frame rate collapsing.
How many monitors, and is it G-SYNC compatible?
Four monitors at most, on three DisplayPort 2.1b outputs and one HDMI 2.1b output. G-SYNC technology is supported: on a compatible monitor, the display syncs with the card and screen tearing disappears.
Are the fans noisy at idle?
They are stopped: Zero Frozr shuts them off completely while the card's temperature stays low, and only restarts them above a certain threshold. For office work and web browsing, the card makes no noise at all. The reinforced backplate also improves airflow.
What protects this card against electrical failures?
DrMOS power stages, which offer better efficiency with lower losses and improved voltage control, and thermal pads that draw heat away from sensitive components. Two features that affect stability and lifespan, not raw performance.
Is the card new and under warranty?
Yes, new and covered for 1 year, with your invoice serving as the warranty document. The exact reference is 912-V538-006; the detailed specifications are in the MSI technical documentation.
